FAQ
Questions we hear most.
- Is MyGRIT Course® just another study app?
- No. Most study apps help you organize what you already know how to do. MyGRIT Course® works at a different level — it addresses the reason those tools often fail, which is that most students were never taught the actual process of learning itself. The Effort Learning Model gives you a seven-stage behavioral system for how to approach every learning situation. The DGRP™ framework gives you a cognitive structure that works across every subject. The Twin AI™ does not answer your questions. It asks you better ones. That is not a feature difference. It is a philosophy difference.
- I have tried everything. Why would this be different?
- Because most of what you tried was designed to help you work harder. MyGRIT Course® is designed to help you work differently. If you have tried tutors, apps, and study guides and still feel like you are falling short, the issue is almost certainly not your effort. It is the absence of a process underneath your effort. You are putting in the hours but the hours do not have a structure that builds actual understanding. That is not a character flaw. That is a system gap. Students who engage with the ELM begin to apply a structured process to their learning. The outcome studies that will measure those shifts are planned for Year 1 and Year 2 post-launch.
- What does the Twin AI™ actually do?
- The Twin AI™ is your personalized learning companion inside the app. During onboarding — an eight-screen experience called Meet Your Twin — you share your motivations, goals, and future self vision. The Twin stores all of it and uses it as the foundation for every interaction throughout the platform. At each of the seven Effort Learning Actions™, the Twin meets you where you are. It does not do the work for you. It asks the kind of questions that help you think more clearly. You choose your Twin's personality — Mentor, Study Partner, Coach, or Affirming Mentor — and you can change it anytime.
- How is this different from ChatGPT?
- ChatGPT is an answer-generation system. You bring a question and it produces an answer. The Twin AI™ does the opposite. It does not answer your questions. It asks you better ones. That distinction is not a product feature. It is a philosophy about what learning actually is. An AI that answers your questions makes you better at getting answers. An AI that asks you better questions makes you better at thinking.
- Does this work for students with ADHD or executive function challenges?
- The Effort Learning Model incorporates design principles that may support learners with ADHD and executive function challenges. The seven ELA stages provide external behavioral structure for exactly the processes where executive function challenges show up most acutely — preparation before class, organization after class, initiating homework, and building consistent study habits. MyGRIT Course® is not a clinical tool and is not a substitute for professional support. But its structure is consistent with evidence-based approaches to academic support.
- How does a school or university pilot work?
- Institutional pilots are structured to minimize adoption risk and maximize outcome visibility. A typical pilot focuses on one cohort for one semester, with outcome reviews at week eight and at completion. Every pilot includes educator onboarding, student onboarding through the Twin AI™ Meet Your Twin experience, parent orientation materials, real-time engagement data in the institutional dashboard, and a written outcome summary at pilot close. Pricing runs from $5 to $15 per student per semester plus a one-time setup fee starting at $5,000. Most pilots fall below the board approval threshold for new expenditures. MyGRIT Course® aligns with Title I, TRIO, and College and Career Readiness funding criteria. Institutional partners are encouraged to confirm eligibility with their grants administrator based on their specific program design.
